1. Load: Open the Lotus and place one or two decks of standard poker-sized cards in the center tray.
2. Touch: Press the left sensor for one deck or the right sensor for two decks. The Lotus activates and begins separating cards one-by-one into two piles using its inverse riffle mechanism.
3. Stack: Pick up the two piles, stack them together, and repeat 3-7 times for a mathematically thorough shuffle. The whole process takes under 30 seconds for a thorough, near-random mix.

The inverse riffle technique is the opposite of what cheap shufflers do. Instead of forcing cards together at harsh angles (which bends and damages them), the Lotus separates the deck card-by-card into two piles, then you recombine. It's the same principle as a hand riffle — just automated, consistent, and gentle.

What changed from V1?
Two things. The deck-seating magnet that could weaken with heavy use on some early V1 units is redesigned, and sensing is now touch plus IR for a cleaner start. Same inverse-riffle mix, same two-deck capacity, same fold-shut design.

Does the Lotus Shuffler damage cards?
No. The inverse riffle mechanism separates cards one-by-one rather than forcing them together. The rollers grip gently without leaving marks. Your cards come out the same way they went in.

How many times should I shuffle?
For a mathematically thorough shuffle, run the Lotus 3-7 times. Most people do 3 for casual games. Poker players may prefer 5-7 passes; riffle math says a deck is near-random after about 7. The whole process takes under 30 seconds.

Does it work with UNO cards?
Yes, confirmed. UNO cards are slightly narrower than poker-size but feed reliably. Same for Phase 10, Skip-Bo, and most standard poker-size card games.

How loud is it?
The V2 measures about 58 dB, just under the level of normal conversation. Quiet enough for late-night games without waking anyone up.
